OVERVIEW

Sadie, a.k.a. nugrl90, finds out one day that her semi-happy teen life is taking a serious turn toward disaster. Not only are her parents really, truly getting divorced (as they’ve threatened a hundred times), but now her family is moving! She has to share a room with WS (Wicked Sister) and start the school year as “the new girl.” So, Sadie creates a blog to sort out every W3TP (What’s Wrong With This Picture?) that has suddenly entered her life.

When Sadie meets BB (Buff Boy), she thinks that maybe her luck is changing. Could this be Sadie’s chance to fit in at her new school? Or will a relationship with BB isolate her even more?

Through it all, Sadie has her blog―where she vents to friends and where she discovers the inner strength to keep moving forward.

Written entirely in blog style, complete with a unique “clicktionary” explaining blogspeak and scattered hand-drawn artwork throughout, Sadie’s story will pull in readers from the very first page.

PRAISE

“You won't be bored reading this, I promise. It seems like something new and different is happening on every page!

Sadie is having a terrible, awful, very bad year. Her parents, instead of just fighting all the time, decided to get a divorce -- AND her Dad is moving halfway across the country! It gets worse, too; Sadie, her MOM (Mean Old Mom) and her WS (Wicked Sister) have to move, too! Just because MOM wants to live near her sister for "support." In only a few weeks, Sadie is going to be the New Girl at a completely new school, leaving every one of her friends behind. So Sadie creates a blog to talk about all W3TP (What is wrong with this picture), and for her VBF (you don't need that one explained, do you?) to check in with their comments.

At first, Sadie and her friends from the old town are all upset because she is leaving with practically no notice, and she gets no support at all from MOM, WS or DAD (Dreadful Awful DAD). Then, things start to look up - Sadie meets a seriously good looking BB (Buff Boy) who hangs out by her locker, and her new friend, Jules, who is a new girl at school too. Even her old boyfriend, Dustin, checks in on her blog, making things a little less lonely.

Sadie then finds out that loneliness is a lot better than some of the other things that can happen in a New Girl's life.”
—K. Varraso, Amazon Review

“In Bloggrls (nugrl90) author Cheryl Dellasega channels a teenager girl caught in the anguish of many life changes. Her parents are divorcing, she's moving, she'll be attending a new school, and she'll be leaving her friends. In order to cope and to maintain a link with the life she's leaving behind Sadie starts a blog.

The reader is privy to her new life as she deals with issues with her "MOM" (mean old mom), "WS" (wicked sister), "DAD" (dreadful, awful dad) and other "ppl" (people) as they relate to her new set of circumstances.

The topics faced by Sadie in this book are emblematic of what many of today's teen's face as a matter of course - up to and including how to cope with homophobic issues.

There is an acronym lexicon at the start of the book listing the blogosphere short cuts for those who are not familiar with this new pidgin style language. The author's choice to present this book in epistolary format is fitting and allows the reader to gain insight to the world through Sadie's eyes. I'm probably too old to feel comfortable reading in this configuration for too long but then I'm not the target audience.”
